Day 25***Purple chair sashes?? My colors are Pool Blue and Red!

***My Reception Coordinator insists I asked her to order me purple chair sashes, but I actually asked her for turquoise organza table overlays! Funny that she doesn’t believe that is what I told her, but the real question is, Who is the poor bride that needs purple chair sashes?!***

I am finally feeling back to normal after a rough day and a half with the flu bug… I think part of what cured me was having my wonderful family(Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, etc) on my mom’s side surprise me with an early wedding gift! Patio Furniture! It was so exciting because we love being out on the deck, but didn’t want to just sit out there pretzel style on the floor! Anyway, nothing gives a person their appetite back like an excuse to grill and eat outside! So Thank You so much to all involved in the beautiful gift!

Wedding stuff… Cary and I are going to work hard on the favors tonight since the weather is suspect we won’t make excuses to get outside instead of working on them. We have been terrible about
procrastinating on those and I am so ready to have them over with! I love how they are turning out because I think they are cute and fun, but am not sure people will love them as much as I do because not everyone is as corny! I am also having a hard time choosing music for the reception for the special dances because I don’t want to be too cliche, but also want something that is appropriate and it seems like some of the songs I really love don’t give off the right light in all the verses and I want it to really make sense and maybe that is asking too much.. maybe I should just write a song and sing it?? JUST KIDDING!! All that know me know that would be a horrible idea!

So, I had a fun pre-wedding project for Cary and I and I asked him the other night if he would do it and he wasn't really thrilled about it, but agreed to it anyway... I think it is a beautiful thing all couples should do before they get married if they are not writing their own vows. Basically what we did was we went through each sentence of our vows and then talked about what we were really saying to each other when we say those generic words at the ceremony. Here are the vows we will be saying to each other and a snippet of the meanings we discussed :)

  • I, N., take you, N., to be my wife/husband.
** I promise to take you for who you are and fully accept YOU as my better half.**
  • I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health.
** I will love you no matter what obstacles our future holds, through any peaks or valleys I will stand by your side.**
  • I will love you and honor you all the days of my life.
**I will always speak highly of you and give you honor whether we're alone or in a crowd or if we're together or apart. I will love you most and make you a top priority in my life.**

I know Cary wasn't excited about doing this, but I know we both enjoyed it.. we giggled some and even got a little teary at parts(or at least I did). It was so meaningful because I know that on our wedding day when we are repeating those words back to each other we will hear so much more. He is such a great guy and 25 days will go quick and I am very happy about that! Wedding Day here we come!
